Chalkboard Hidden Door / Shelving
Several people have asked me about the shelves they have seen in the background of some of my food photos so I thought I would do a post about it.
I live in an old house that was once belonged to my grandmother and it had this ugly hot water heater stuck in the corner of the kitchen. When cabinets were built in the kitchen back in the 80’s, a closet was made to hide the hot water heater and this shelving/door unit was built.
The door/shelves were originally painted all white so I decided to add some chalkboard paint to the back and I love the way it turned out. I purchased a small can of chalkboard paint at my local Walmart so the project was very inexpensive. It’s a great way to to make a huge statement for a small amount of money and I’m all about saving money.
